Palm Beach State College | Security Building

About This Project

As the Palm Beach State College Lake Worth Campus continues to evolve to meet the needs of educating the college age students of Palm Beach County the need to maintain a safe and secure environment for the students has grown proportionally. To satisfy this need Stephen Boruff, AIA, Architects + Planners, Inc. at the request of the college has designed a 4,500 Square Foot Facility to accommodate the Departments of Security, Safety and Risk.

The building located on the western boundary of the campus affords it maximum exposure so students can easily identify it and so the departments have ease of access in the shortest time to respond to the daily functions expected of them. The prominent feature of the building is a translucent green glass “light tower” which during the day glows green in the natural light and at night glows green as it is lit from the inside presenting a constant beacon on campus for those who need the services.
