Palm Beach State College | Firing Range

About This Project

Palm Beach State College commissioned Stephen Boruff, AIA Architects + Planners, Inc. to provide full architectural services for a 147,000 square foot, $33 million, Public Safety Training Center on the Lake Worth Campus. The project integrates Fire Science, Criminal Justice, EMT and Paramedic Academies into one comprehensive complex.

The Firing Range, representing the completion of Phase I of the Master Plan, includes twenty four (24) twenty-five meter firing lanes designed to accommodate lead and non-lead ammunition, a classroom, offices, range control room and secured weapon and ammunition storage. The facility is used by the college to educate future law enforcement officers in the use of both hand guns and rifles and to provide a secure firing range for local law enforcement agencies.
