Palm Beach County Fire Rescue – Station No. 22

About This Project

Stephen Boruff Architects + Planners, Inc. was awarded the contract to design a new fire station for Palm Beach County, located in the new town of Westlake, extending our firms long history of serving Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.  Located in the western communities of Palm Beach County, this new community provided a unique opportunity for the evolution of Fire Recue Station design for this municipality.  Incorporating “HOT ZONE” design, this station addresses how firefighters return from fires bringing carcinogens and toxins from the incidents into the station house contaminating apparatus bays and into the living quarters.  By creating Red (contaminated), Yellow (transition) and Green (clean) zones contaminates are restricted from continued firefighter exposure.
