Palm Beach County Fire Rescue | Headquarters & Training Facility

About This Project

Stephen Boruff, AIA Architects + Planners Inc. was commissioned first to investigate the feasibility of, and then design a new Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Training Facility on a parcel of land known as the “abandoned Cross State Landfill.” The site was chosen due to its remote yet accessible location, with the feasibility study supporting this selection. The program for the facility includes a fully operational firefighter training campus, including an apparatus building, headquarters/classroom/training building, training tower, burn building, driving course, training course with live props, and supporting elements and infrastructure. The new Training Facility is designed to meet the current and future demands of Palm Beach County’s growing emergency response demands.
