City of Palm Beach Gardens | Fire Station No. 2

About This Project

The City of Palm Beach Gardens commissioned a Design-Build team to provide the development of construction documents, permitting and construction for the replacement of Fire Station No. 2 located on Campus Drive in Palm Beach Gardens.   The 3-bay, 9,550 square foot station contributes to the fabric of this neighborhood by supporting the character of Campus Drive, while providing the residents of the neighboring area with an enhanced storm resistant facility providing for continuous, uninterrupted fire-rescue service.  The use of low scale, colorful and compatible building materials allows the structures easy integration into the surrounding neighborhood and  make it a true community asset.   Continuous winding, tree lined, pedestrian friendly sidewalks will continue the network of street level circulation.   This station functions as a crisis center during natural disasters, and as such, resists the uplifting forces of hurricane force winds, surge inundation and excessive rainfall flooding.  Fire Station No. 2 is designed to meet all hurricane hazard safety criteria as set forth by U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and Palm Beach County for a Category 5 storm event (190 MPH with a 3-second gusts wind speed).
